DISCIPLING through Adventures
IN missions!
Vida Missions is a ten-day, cross-cultural mission experience. Groups receive three days of training at VidaNet before going to serve in a local church or ministry with whom VidaNet has long-term connections. Each day begins with devotional and time spent with Jesus. After the outreach, they return to VidaNet to debrief and prepare to return home.
Vida Missions is ideal for youth groups, small groups, high school or college groups and even families. VidaNet staff provide all coordination from airport pickup to drop off, allowing the group leaders to focus on the relationships with the others in the group. Trips may be customized to fit your team.
OUR GOALS FOR YOU
DEEPENED RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST

Your youth will experience God in a new and more intimate way during your short term mission trip. We want them to be able to say upon their return “I met God in a new way on this trip!”

NEW GLOBAL WORLDVIEW

Your youth will see the world through different eyes because they have rubbed shoulders with another culture. We want them to be able to say upon their return “Wow, I am part of something much larger than I ever imagined!”.

LEAVE THEIR COMFORT ZONE

Your group will be challenged to be involved in things that are outside of what they would normally consider their “comfort zone”. We want them to be able to say “I did things that I would have never done before in my experience with Vida Missions!”.

HOW IT WORKS

Vida Missions is dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

As a ministry our calling is to “all nations”.

We believe that discipleship is a life-long process of dying to ourselves that allows us to begin looking and acting more and more like the Master, Jesus Christ.

Days of TRAINING

The first few days of your VidaMissions experience are training at the VidaNet base in Costa Rica or Honduras. This includes teaching sessions, worship, training in drama and Kids’ Club activities and more. It is a time to grow in intimacy with God and be prepared to reach out!

Days of OUTREACH

Following training, your group will go to serve with a local church or ministry with whom VidaNet has long-term connection. Generally, the local church hosts you during this time as you sleep on cots and eat their food! Through outreach, your group will have the opportunity to develop cross-cultural relationships and see God working in new ways. Outreaches usually combine service projects, evangelism, and kids’ club within the local church context. If you have a special interest in a specific church or ministry, please let our Vida Missions staff know so we can customize your experience.

Day of ADVENTURE

Your last day will be spent in a touristy area enjoying God’s beauty in Central America. We will plan a day filled with fun activities for your group. This is included as part of the package. Finally, you’ll come back to the VidaNet base to debrief and re-pack before heading home.

DeLynn Hoover

Vida Missions Founder

“Vida Missions’ goal is to see youth helped out of their comfort zone and brought to a place of more commitment to Christ and to the church, local and global. I found in the years that I spent as a youth pastor, that the times we spent on mission trips, using this type of model, were some of the most life-changing experiences in the lives of my youth.

There is something wonderful that happens when youth get out of their routine and take time out to be together and to serve their Heavenly Father. The idea of including formal spiritual and ministry training with service and evangelism is a relatively new one and may seem strange at first glance, but I would like to encourage you to give it a chance and see if it would be effective in the lives of your youth.”
