Oh, how blessed I am to walk step by step and disciple mothers through each stage of what we call ‘motherhood’. From the beginning of their pregnancies when they aren’t sure they are fully prepared to be mothers to watching their beautiful children take their first steps, I can’t help but thank God for this wonderful opportunity. Yet what’s even more beautiful than seeing these lovely women become mothers is seeing them accept God as their Father and watching the Holy Spirit work in their lives.
When I think of the fruit that has blossomed in these women’s lives, I specifically think of Marjorie. Marjorie, originally from Nicaragua, started our program two years ago as a new mother and today she is the Coordinator of the El Nido program in La Carpio, a small community near the country’s capital, San Jose. Marjorie was one of our first El Nido participants in La Carpio. She testifies,
“It has been a wonderful experience to know more about God and to know herself with the help that He has given her.” She also has expressed that through this program but, most of all, through knowing her Lord & Savior, she has “learned how to be a better mother for her children.”
VidaNet exists to develop global disciples of Jesus Christ through intensive discipleship and mission opportunities. Many of these moms were not prepared for the intensive experience that motherhood thrusts on them, yet we are honored to disciple them through it. How rewarding when some like Marjorie then join God’s mission and serve as leaders to foster the faith of others in their own communities.
