El Nido, meaning ‘the nest’ is a safe place in times of refuge. This year proves the necessity of a place for refuge. El Nido is a ministry that by the grace of God has continued to work, offering support to all these moms who for one reason or another have been vulnerable to a critical situation in their lives. (Mothers heads of households, unplanned pregnancies, intrafamily and domestic violence, unemployment, family abandonment, etc ..)
That is why the El Nido Prenatal Center has carried out new work strategies in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Our aim is to provide emotional, spiritual and material support to beneficiary mothers by connecting with them via WhatsApp messages, video calls and direct voice calls. We have also been present, with the delivery of basic food items, provisions for their babies; scheduling a meeting with them once a month at a meeting point in a free area and enough space to make the delivery.
This is thanks to the program that is developed with each one of them called: ”Earn while you learn” whose program facilitates learning in topics related to the development of their pregnancy and the upbringing of their baby already born. As they learn, the women earn “Mommy Dollars” for lessons and devotionals completed to then “buy” supplies for their babies in the El Nido boutique.
A nest is a shelter from the storms and difficulties around us as well as a safe place to grow and learn under someone’s wing. We all need support and a place for refuge. In addition to the first year we offer the “GROWING TOGETHER” ministry (mother-child binomial). This is a second step process focused on discipleship in a personalized way with each mother, for spiritual growth in their lives.

The idea of El Nido is to share the love of God, to remind every one of us that God has a special plan for them and their baby. Our goal is to offer them physical, spiritual, and emotional support. It’s a privilege to walk alongside so many women to listen, talk and disciple them before and after their pregnancies. We love what we do here and El Nido is a continually growing ministry and is always looking for support!
